Twilio Communications Integration
Learn how to integrate Twilio to power multi-channel clinic communications: automated SMS appointment reminders, patient copay payment links, and inbound digital fax routing.
Overview
Twilio is a global cloud communications platform. Integrating Twilio with Intelligent Office Suite enables instant text messaging to patients, automated appointment notifications, direct copay billing links, and automated inbound fax webhook management.
Key Integration Features
- Automated Fax Webhook Registration: When adding a Twilio fax line, OfficeSuite updates the phone number webhook via REST API (
POST /IncomingPhoneNumbers/{sid}.json) without manual configuration. - SMS Reminders & Copay Links: Send interactive check-in reminders and secure patient payment links directly to patient mobile devices.
- Live Phone Inventory: View and auto-select active Twilio phone numbers directly in the fax number setup dialog.
- 1-Click Connection Testing: Instant validation of your Twilio Account SID and Auth Token directly from the integrations page.

Multi-Channel Messaging Flow
How Twilio delivers clinical notifications and digital faxes in Intelligent Office Suite:
1. Automated SMS Reminders & Copay Links
When an appointment is scheduled or a copay is requested, OfficeSuite calls the Twilio Messaging API to send an SMS with a direct payment portal link.
2. Inbound Digital Fax Processing
Inbound faxes sent to your clinic Twilio lines trigger our secure webhook, downloading the PDF and parsing clinical records with Gemini AI.
3. Delivery Receipts & Logging
Real-time delivery receipts (Delivered, Sent, Failed) are logged and displayed directly inside the patient communication records and fax audit tables.
